(WUHAN/BERLIN) Index of Selected Works

Founded in 2023 by Xiao Xiao, Yve Oh, and Yumo Cheng, EAST ALIEN COMPANY (EAC) is an interdisciplinary art collective based in Berlin. Formed during the APAL@AmnAsia.6 Residency, they had their theater debut at Berliner Ringtheater with a performance titled “Alien without Extraordinary Ability” that combines SCI-FI and autofictional reading, singing, performing, and dancing. East Alien Company is a collective experiment that negotiates with their curatorial, performative, and time-based practices. East Alien Company works with the politics of embodiments and dislocations, racialised and colonial logics within contemporary migration and bordering practices, and the critical globality. Their collective practice is an annotation of their radical kinship with one another, and shared political imaginaries emerged from it. Their practice is an interface for their collaborators to be invited in. Members of East Alien Company (EAC) have had their works showed at Berliner Festspiele, Ars Electronica Festival in Linz, Global Science Film Festival, ÉTE Performance Art Festival, Shugen Gallery Shanghai, Temporary Gallery Cologne, Gruppe Motto Galerie in Hamburg, Goethe Institut Bulgaria, Sofia Art Week, and have their works supported by DOMiD Lab (DE), Light Art Space Foundation (DE), Interledger Foundation (USA), Annette von Droste zu Hülshoff-Stiftung (DE), Research and Work Grants Visual Arts by the City of Cologne (DE).
